Got a new CD from Play.com. A few days ago I heard a track by Joss Stone on the 6Music funk show, presented by Craig Charles. The CD I got was copy protected 
I had origionally ordered from PlayUSA because the CD wasn’t out in this country. Anyway last night I was browsing in HMV and came across the newly released british version, which isn’t copy protected. So I now own two copies.
And I managed to get around the copy protection anyway via IsoBuster
Not been upto a lot lately….. just work. Can’t think of anything of interest to note. Such is my dull life 
Not sure if I mentioned but I won another DVD from 6Music. This time a Moby DVD.
I’m still waiting for my police application to arrive.
Been a busy few days, nothing in particular has been done… lets think.
Work is still busy, trying to get the game polished for a special build that Midway are going to show to a focus group.
Last night I went to the pub with a few peeps from work, and then went to meet Dave, Eleanor and Yhan. Got very drunk, and shock horror ate a kebab. That’s a sure fire way to know I’ve drunk too much. At the end of the evening we ended up at Daves, and I staggered back in the early hours. I woke up on the sofa about 5:20ish and dragged myself off to bed. Got up at about 8 so I could get ready to go and watch the rugby.
Wow what a superb game, the ref was a bit off at times tho
I then headed to Dolland and Atchison, to look at getting some new specs. I’m also going to give contact lenses a try. It took the woman ages to get them into my eyes, feel very odd. Also the daily lenses won’t be perfect in my right eye.
Once that was done, I spoke to my mum about thr rugby and then went shopping. I ended up with Rainbow 6 and a xBox Live starter pack So I’ve been playing that all night.
I was supposed to go upto DUSA to see Barclay DJing. But Anna never got back to me about times etc….
This Scotsman article, is apparently not true…. I really don’t know what to believe. I know I fucking hate work at the moment, but thats about it. I don’t want it to go under, I just want to leave….
Well I finally took the plunge and actually phoned up West Midlands Police to ask for an application pack. I feel slightly better asking for a real paper pack in stead of using PoliceCouldYou, especially since the login doesn’t appear to be over https, and it’s getting DB errors The nice lady down there said that the application pack should be in the post in the next week to 10 days. Now I’ve got to write letters to people who I would like to be references.
Out of the blue, Bagpuss finally sent me some pictures that he and Charlotte took at the end of their holiday. They popped into Dundee for a few hours, for some fun on the Eyetoy and a bit of food at Cafe Buongiorno. As usual pics to the right… 
After a hard afternoons work I went to see Spitited Away at the DCA. Wow I really enjoyed it. It really is crazy, and words can’t describe some of the imagery. The DCA was packed for once. I met Rachel, Ben and Liam outside to watch it.
Once it was over Liam headed home, Rachel and Ben went for food, and I headed to the Nether Inn ( Contrary to the reviews I think it’s shite, maybe I’m getting old ). I was due to meet Charles and Neill, and the rest of the airsoft crew. They weren’t there, so I happened to meet Rory and his girlfriend Ann(e). So I had a few pints, a general chat and then decided to call it quits….
On the way back to the flat I met Adam, who looked very smart and apparently just been to the Opera at Caird Hall.
Anywho time for bed
The whole software team are in work at the minute, trying to get stuff done for the polish build. Whilst there we thought the building might be on fire again. Unfortunately not, it was just some people burning rubish. Shame really since we could of done with the time off
After dragging myself out of bed rather late in the day, I managed to go and meet, mharrigan, tom and caits at the Twin City Cafe. Whilst in there my old flatmate from first year gave me a call, and I met him outside. Was good to see him.
I finally made it into work rather late in the day, then I got a call from Gordon, who was pissed, asking me if I wanted to celebrate the fact that Scotland had beaten Holland in the footie. I couldn’t be arsed, since I just got to work, and Rachel had mentioned the fact that they might be having a party, so I headed there instead…..
Just got back and loaded the pictures, which can by clicking on the picture
Ouch. My poor little ADSL connection has been feeling the pain of lots of people using it. My friend from uni days has an account on the machine that he uses to host photos. Well he uploaded a load of new ones, and obviously spread the word.
Things appear to be settling down a little bit now, but I think it’s the most hits the server will see in a long time 
Shame I didn’t have MRTG setup. I wonder if I can parse the apache logs to get a nice graph of the spike in connections
Just got my 6Music prize this morning in the post. Thanks go out to 6Music and Claire McDonnell. Oh and Sarah who also works on the show since she was kind enough to put in a 6Music pen, and window sticker. I think I listen to 6Music too much.
I don’t want to use the window sticker here at work, so it’s just stuck to my monitor now…. anywho back to work
Well I’ve finally given in. I’m off to see the matrix this evening with Dinesh and Sam from work. I’m going to go with the view that it’s shit. That way if it’s not as bad as I’ve heard I’ll be pleasently supprised.

A lot of thanks must go to Neil for pointing out the Johnny Cash video. I’ve just received the album from Play.com so time for a listen to see what I think. If there is another song as good as Hurt, I’ll be very suprised.
I also started to fill in my police application yesterday. It’s very difficult! I’m not going to be sending if off for a while. I need to check references etc. and come up with some decent answers
Yep I’m certainly not in the mood for work. I fucking hate it at times. I’m going to try and work for two hours then go to see Jeremy Hardy versus the Israeli Army. Down at the DCA.

About an hour ago, I started walking into work. On my way I saw a group of kids on the other side of the road with a very drunk guy. This concerned me a lot. I walked on upto work, and I couldn’t help get this bloke out of my mind. I popped in and said hello to Ed, before I went to the first aid draw and got a pack of gloves and a couple of other things. Then I headed down to the bloke.
When I got there I found out that the kids were on the phone to the ambulance service. So I opened the pack, got the gloves on and started talking to this chap making sure he was okay. He appeared okay, although he had vomited into his top, and pissed himself. Not nice So we wait for the ambulance guys to arrive, making sure that he is okay and getting verbally abused, “yer fecking bastard yer!”. The ambulance drivers said there was nothing medically wrong with him, so they called their good friends at the police. So in the end he was okay, and got carted off for a lie down at force headquaters.
Now I just have to get into the mood for work. This could turn out to be a long afternoon….
Woke up this morning as usual with a bit of a hangover. So I just turned on my computer and listened to the radio. Just before I popped out for a fry up with Charles, I entered another compo. I didn’t know what the prize was, I just entered. During the food I joked to Charles that I’d probably win. Well I did. So now I’m the proud owner of The Lion King. So now I’ve just about paid for my TV license by winning stuff from the good old beeb!
